Hover over a link to preview it
Open the side panel once, then rest the pointer on any link to see it.
For Chrome 140.0.7289.0 or later
Watch it in action
Watch two links preview as the pointer rests on them.
- Click the Instant Preview icon in Chrome’s toolbar to open the side panel.
- Rest the pointer on a link on your page. After the delay, its page appears in the side panel.
- Move to another link and rest there. The side panel changes to that page.
Turn it on
- Right-click the Instant Preview icon in Chrome’s toolbar or Extensions menu and choose Options.
- Choose Hover as the trigger.
- Adjust Delay to set how long the pointer must rest on a link. The default is 1000 ms.
- Click Save.
Chrome requires you to open the side panel yourself before hovering works. To keep the icon in reach, pin Instant Preview from Chrome’s Extensions menu.
